Hello!
My greatest joy in life is categorizing things and looking through the various items I've purposefully collected or otherwise have just acquired over the years. For a while I've thought about making a Tumblr to document my treasures since that's a platform I've been on for so long, but after thinking about it for a minute I realized I want to keep it old internet style. No reblogs, retweets, reshares, or whatever other made up social media noun is popular these days. Just an RSS feed and comment section, if you care enough to follow or have an opinion.
In middle school, before I joined any actual social media (unless you count Scratch lol), I would spend hours looking at random blogs and reading and rereading my mom's own little ventures. I never had a blog of my own, but I did have a few features on my mom's plush side hustle blog. It's crazy that blogging used to be such a huge thing before it got replaced with apps like Instagram. Being able to take a picture and post it with a caption should be the easiest thing to keep up with, but I dunno. Nothing feels archival about today's apps. I'm sure Blogspot will eventually suffer the same fate Geocities did, but at least it'll be easier to export.
Anyways, I imagine if I did have a blog back when I was a kid, it would probably be very similar to what I plan to do here. As a kid I took extensive notes on index cards about my cast of Playmobil creatures. Very often I bite off more than I can chew and end up overwhelming myself so I plan on keeping things simple around here. I want to at least set up a little photo box to take pictures of the items I talk about, but who knows. I might just end up taking a picture on my messy desk, whatever. This is just for fun and to scratch the insatiable part of my brain that feels the need to document the same information over and over.
This post got way longer than I intended, but once again, this is really just for me! I'll try to make my actual posts brief, but sometimes I can't resist telling a story.
